L3 Internet Protocol - IPv4 and IPv6 - Routing Courses
These are the L3 Internet Protocol courses. The courses in this category are 100% Instructor Led either in person at your site or a site close to you, or via Online meeting tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, HP Rooms, or Webex.
A strong understanding of Layer 3 Internet Protocols—both IPv4 and IPv6—is essential in modern networking because:
- IP (IPv4 and IPv6) is the foundational addressing and delivery system for all Internet communication
- Every application depends on IP to move packets across hosts, networks, and the global Internet
- Core concepts include addressing, subnetting, forwarding, fragmentation, ICMP, and Neighbor Discovery
- IPv6 knowledge is critical for dual-stack environments and modern broadband/mobile deployments
- Routing protocols (OSPF, IS-IS, BGP) dynamically determine network paths and reachability
- Enables troubleshooting of routing issues such as loops, asymmetric paths, convergence problems, and reachability failures
